Bokoblin is an enemy type in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity. Bokoblins are mainly found composing hordes of small enemies, but large ones may appear as "powerful foes" with weak-point gauges, especially in early-game outposts.
Bokoblin hordes generally use random melee attacks. If the player is constantly attacking while in range, getting hit by these attacks is rare.
Some groups of bokoblins have a unified ranged attack. An alert horn sounds, similar to the sound effect used when a lookout enemy spots the player in Breath of the Wild, then the group throws an array of spinning Bokoblin Clubs [add link] in unison. They are still holding their melee clubs after this attack. The attack will ragdoll a player who is not guarding, and push a guarding player backwards but not ragdoll them. The attack can be dodged, but the reaction time available after the horn sounds is short.
Large bokoblins with weak-point gauges will generally have one of four combat builds, corresponding to the four combat runes, which the game prompts the player to use in defeating them. They can be defeated without use of the specified runes, but it is more difficult.
Remote bombs: A large bokoblin wielding a Boko Shield [add link] and Boko Club [add link] will use its shield to block damage. Its guard must be broken with Remote Bombs in order to expose its weak-point gauge.
Cryonis: A large bokoblin wielding a Boko Spear [add link] will poke at the player repeatedly with its spear, then leap back to gain range and perform a charging attack with its spear. The player must spawn a Cryonis block in front of the bokoblin in order to stun it and expose its weak-point gauge.
Stasis: A large bokoblin wielding a Boko Club with no shield will use a spinning attack to ragdoll the player. The bokoblin must be stopped with Stasis before it hits the player in order to expose its weak-point gauge.
Magnesis: A large bokoblin wielding an Iron Sledgehammer [add link] will throw the sledgehammer at the player. The player must catch the sledgehammer with Magnesis, then it will automatically be used to hit the bokoblin and expose its weak-point gauge.
