Impa is a playable character in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity. Impa can also be faced in combat as an enemy. Please see [Impa: Enemy page] for more information.

In-game description: Royal Advisor, Loyal Friend. The adviser [sic] to Hyrule's royal family and a revered member of the Sheikah tribe. She is dedicated to her work and known for being steadfast and diligent. She can be distractible at times.

Moveset

Standalone moves

Dash attack: When the player presses or holds B while moving with left stick, Impa performs a "Naruto run" with her arms extended behind her. If the run is interrupted with X, Impa performs a jump twirl and throws her large straw hat like a boomerang, dealing damage.

Aerial regular attack: While Impa is in the air, the player may press Y repeatedly for up to three aerial somersaults which deal damage.

Slam-down attack: While Impa is in the air, the player may press X for a slam-down attack.

Weak-point smash move: Impa jumps high in the air and performs a slam-down attack on the weak-point enemy.

In addition to her special-attack gauge, Impa has three small white Sheikah symbols just under the gauge. Each symbol begins to glow when Impa has absorbed a symbol from defeating an enemy, as described below.

Unique ability (ZR aka right trigger): Impa applies a large blue Sheikah symbol to an enemy in front of her. This symbol can then be absorbed with X to produce duplicates and power up Impa's special attack. Up to 3 enemies may be tagged with symbols at a time, but Impa will not automatically focus on a second tagged enemy after the first is defeated.

Symbols cannot be generated or absorbed when Impa already has three glowing symbols. Instead, when ZR is pressed while all three symbols are glowing, the row of blue Sheikah duplicates to either side of Impa will rush forward, knocking back [horde?] enemies.

    Special attack (A button): Two versions.
  1. If the special attack is used while Impa does not have all three Sheikah symbols glowing, a large blue bomb barrel labeled with a Sheikah eye glyph falls from the sky and detonates, harming enemies. Impa absorbs a symbol from this attack.
  2. If the special attack is used while all three symbols are glowing, blue phantom Sheikah warriors build a whole pyramid of blue Sheikah-labeled bomb barrels, which Impa then detonates with her weapon for a much more powerful explosion.

Additional special ability gauges can be unlocked to a maximum of 3. The second special gauge is unlocked through [add quest link] and the third is unlocked through [add quest link].

Rune moves

Cryonis: Impa spawns a Cryonis block in front of her, with a small cushion on top. The player may immediately press X to ride the Cryonis block around, steering with left analog stick like a shield surf for some time before the block explodes. If the player misses the prompt to press X, the Cryonis block cannot be ridden.

Magnesis: [describe use]

Remote bombs: Impa generates a whirling vortex of blue energy on the ground, which deals damage. The vortex spits a round remote bomb up into the air with a sound effect like an ascending firework, then the bomb detonates and a blue Sheikah eye glyph appears where it was. The damage radius of both the vortex and the bomb seem to be significantly larger than the visual effects.

Combos

Regular Attack 1 (never locked): Press Y once. Impa moves slightly forward and slashes the air, creating several crisscrossed visual cutting effects.

Combo 1

Combo 1 (never locked): Press X once. Impa hops in the air and performs a powerful diagonal slash from upper right to lower left, then lands. She generally makes an exclamation such as "It's over!" or "Witness!" during this move.

Combo 1 (extended): Press X, then press X again when the "Follow Up" prompt appears onscreen. Alternately, just press and hold X. Impa will perform Combo 1, followed by a brief extra attack.

Combo 1 (with symbol): After generating symbol with ZR, the "Absorb Symbol" prompt will appear. Press X. Impa teleports to the symbol-marked enemy and attacks. Whether she follows up or not, the symbol will produce a sound effect and be absorbed after a short time.

Combo 2

Combo 2 (never locked): Press Y then X. Impa and any duplicates slice forward once, jump up, open their paragliders, and perform what appears to be a "bombing run", dropping damage-inflicting projectiles as they travel. The player may press X again while Impa is in the air to end the bombing run with a slam-down attack.

Combo 2 (with symbol): Press ZR, then Y, then X. Impa performs Combo 2, and absorbs the symbol automatically when the tagged enemy is defeated by the bombing run.

Regular Attack 2 (never locked): Press Y twice. Impa slashes twice with her weapon, creating crisscross visual effects and dealing damage.

Combo 3

Combo 3 (never locked): Press Y-Y-X. Impa slashes twice, then disappears from view briefly, leaving her hat floating in the air. Blue glowing slashes attack enemies across a wide area in front of her. She then reappears at her original position and retrieves her hat.

Combo 3 (with symbol): Press ZR-Y-Y-X. Impa performs Combo 3, centering the area of blue slashes on the tagged enemy.

Regular Attack 3 (never locked): Press Y three times. Impa slashes forward twice, then creates a rectangle of four red paper spell scrolls in the air.

Combo 4

Combo 4 (never locked): Press Y three times, then X. Impa slashes forward twice, then creates a rectangle of four red paper spell scrolls in the air. Phantom Sheikah warriors create a Sheikah eye glyph in place of the rectangle, then slash across it, dealing damage in an area. Impa absorbs a symbol from this attack even if one was not generated with ZR, or a second symbol in addition if one was generated.

Combo 4 (with symbol): Press Y three times, then hold X. Impa performs Combo 4, and the tagged enemy is also pulled into the center of the Sheikah eye glyph [only if a horde/weak enemy?], taking damage.

Regular Attack 4 (never locked): Press Y four times. Impa slashes forward twice, creates a rectangle of four red paper spell scrolls, then a wind gust emanates from the center of the rectangle, dealing damage.

Regular Attack 5 (unlocked through Traps for Kakariko Village): Impa slashes forward twice with crisscross attacks, creates a rectangle of four spell scrolls, sends a wind gust forward, then follows up with a gliding dash forward and a wide horizontal slash.
